'Roots'
by Arnold Wesker
Directed by Dora WareingAuditions: Sunday 20th July at 2.30pm
Roots is about a family in an isolated community dealing, in their own way, with the vicissitudes of changing country life. Beatie, the youngest family member, returns from London after three years, full of ideas and notions gained from her boyfriend. She tries desperately to convey Ronnie's principles and culture to her unreceptive family. Preparing for the boyfriend's first visit everyone gather, waiting.
The play finishes with Beatie finding her own voice, independent of Ronnie. It is a life-affirming moment, no to be missed.
